Building Responsible Individuals through Deliberate Guidance, Empowerment and Support

Mission Statement: Temporarily meeting the physical needs of homeless and runaway girls through positive youth development 

Services Offered:

     • Shelter- A safe drug-free environment to homeless/runaway teenage girls (ages 13-17) that will provide a bed, food, clothing, toiletries and caring staff. Emergency temporary shelter. (up to 21 days)

     • Counseling (on site)- Individual & Group Counseling, Family Counseling, Substance Abuse Counseling, Anger Management

     • Educational Assistance- Assistance with school enrollment, Tutorial Services, GED Prep

     • Empowerment- Life Skills Curriculum, Relationship Education

 

Over 30,000 youth in the United States will spend at least one night in a shelter this year.

 

33% of children in the counties serviced by BRIDGES are living below the poverty line.

 

BRIDGES will assist its local communities in the fight against poverty and homelessness by helping young women develop competency and resilience.

 

BRIDGES is a shelter service provided by TEARS Inc. which was founded in 1996 and received 501(c)(3) non-profit status in 1997.

 

BRIDGES is funded by Basic Center Grant
